Wheat Belt Public Power District, located in the panhandle of Nebraska, seeks applicants for the position of General Manager. The long time manager is retiring in November 2008. Candidates should have a background in all aspects of management, with experience in utility financing, strategic planning, operations, customer relations and personnel supervision. Strong communication skills, demonstrated leadership ability, a keen interest in community involvement, are essential. A degree in business, engineering, public administration or other appropriate discipline is desirable, as is graduation from the NRECA MIP program.

The successful candidate will report to a seven member Board, and will be responsible for the management of a distribution system with 29 full time employees, annual operating revenues of $18 million, net utility plant investment of $21million, 2500 miles of line, and 5000 meters..
